A declining libido is rarely just a libido problem

For women, it works differently than for men. Men can often attribute their libido to hormones; testosterone goes up, and the engine starts running again. For women, it's more complex. Hormones play a role, but just as important are sleep, stress, energy, self-image, how safe you feel, and how much space there is to want anything other than to be on the couch at 10 PM.

For many women, desire doesn't disappear due to one thing, but due to an accumulation: chronic fatigue, too much responsibility, hormonal contraception, or the lead-up to menopause. By then, "I'm not in the mood" feels more like "I have no capacity." And that's precisely where the difference lies.

What shilajit does and what it doesn't do

Shilajit is a resin from the Himalayan mountains, traditionally used in Ayurveda as a rasayana, a rejuvenating substance. Modern research primarily focuses on shilajit as an adaptogen: a substance that helps the body cope with stress, supports mitochondrial energy production, and can influence hormonal balance.

What shilajit is not: a "female Viagra," not an instant-libido pill, not a substitute for a conversation with your doctor or partner if the cause lies elsewhere.

What it is: a scientifically researched botanical substance that supports the foundational energy and vitality from which desire can arise again.

Research in women

In a randomized, triple-blind, placebo-controlled study in women of reproductive age (Mosavi et al., 2023), 60 days of supplementation with purified shilajit led to a significantly higher score on the Female Sexual Function Index (28.93 versus 22.09 in the placebo group, P < 0.001). A 48-week trial in 60 postmenopausal women (Pingali et al., 2022) showed dose-dependent preservation of bone mineral density.

Not every woman will experience the same result. What shilajit can do is support the physical basis for vitality, and for some women, this removes a block.*

Why 20% fulvic acid

Most shilajit supplements on the market are not standardized. This means you never know how much active ingredient is in a capsule. Our shilajit is standardized to 20% fulvic acid – the bioactive fraction that most research focuses on. This means: measurable, controllable, no hidden surprises.

With 400 mg of shilajit per capsule, there are 80 mg of standardized fulvic acid in each dose, in line with the dosages used in clinical studies.
