The green-lipped mussel gets its name from the light green edge on the outside of the shell. Mussels are only found in the waters of New Zealand’s Marlborough Sounds, where the shellfish thrive in their pristine natural environment. Green-edged molluscs naturally contain high concentrations of essential fatty acids and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). GAGs are long sugar chains found throughout the body, mainly in cartilage, synovial fluid and skin.
In addition to the green-lipped mussel, the patented Ovomet® also plays a leading role in this formula. This eggshell membrane naturally contains collagen, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine, chondroitin, keratin, lysozyme and more than 500 proteins. Green-lipped mussel extract and Ovomet® are important for the formation of collagen, which is important for bones. *In addition, our product plays a role in the production of cartilage. *
